Amy Oden's journey is one of resilience and dedication. Born in Phoenix, growing up in Miami and having spent part of her high school years in Waxahachie, Texas, she eventually returned to the Tulsa area to be with her family. With three teenage boys, a supportive husband, and a menagerie of pets, including three dogs, chickens, ducks, and a lovable miniature potbelly pig named Charlie, Amy has cultivated a life full of love and balance.
Amy's career path is a testament to her unwavering commitment to healthcare and healing. Her journey began as a registered nurse, where she worked in the ICU while raising her children. Her aspiration to provide more comprehensive care led her to become a Family Nurse Practitioner-Certified (NP-C) in the ER. However, the demanding hours at the hospital did not align with her family's needs, and her quest for a more profound approach to healthcare began.
Amy's desire to help patients at the root of their health issues led her to a position at a local Urgent Care. It was during this time that she discovered functional medicine, a path that ignited her passion for healthcare even further. She sought training and certification in functional medicine, transforming her approach to patient care.
This transformative journey culminated in the creation of Emerge Integrative Medicine. "My business is Emerge Integrative Medicine," Amy shares. "It was started in the midst of the Covid-19 shutdown, opening in May 2021." What sets this practice apart is its focus on functional medicine, addressing the root causes of patients' health conditions, and guiding them toward real, life-changing solutions for their symptoms.
