Rooted in Community
Jennifer Palmer-Sarracino takes great pride in her hometown. She was born and raised right here in Owasso, and aside from nine years away from home, she’s lived in Owasso for her entire life.
“These are my roots,” Jennifer says proudly.
Since launching her real estate career in 2021, Jennifer has taken on a new role in her community. She’s always been dedicated to weaving the fabric of Owasso, but now, she has the opportunity to serve in more impactful ways than ever.
Today, Jennifer leads The Home Connection Team with RE/MAX Results. Through her work in real estate, she’s out to strengthen the community that has always had her back.
Owasso Roots
Jennifer grew up in a healthy middle-class family. She remembers a childhood rich in family values; her parents, grandparents, sibling, aunts, uncles, and cousins were a huge part of her daily life. From an early age, she knew she wanted to raise her children in Oklahoma.
“The value was being in a small town, where we knew everyone and where everyone rallied and had your back. That's one of the reasons I wanted to raise my kids here,” Jennifer shares.
Jennifer recalls how strong the community has always been. That held true during her childhood and as a young parent, and still holds true today.
“Community support is my biggest thing in this town. I have a fantastic networking group, and we support each other like family. Although it has become a large city, it has a small-town feel. Everything we need is right here in this community. I love how this community pulls together.”
Spreading Her Wings
Although real estate has become central to Jennifer’s life, she spent many years focusing on other things — mainly her family. After giving birth to her two daughters, she fully devoted herself to her role as a mom, taking on part-time jobs around her daughters’ needs. Her older daughter, Haley, was born with cystic fibrosis, and Jennifer was there for her every step of the way until her passing at 12 years old.
After Haley’s loss, Jennifer opened Classroom Corner, a teacher supply and educational toy store. She then moved into the corporate sector for a decade. During this time, she first considered a career in real estate and even took a real estate course, but the security of a W2 job kept her in a corporate job. When COVID-19 upended the community, however, she finally decided to plunge into a career where she knew she could make a difference.
“I had a great job, but I was sitting in a cubicle wanting to give so much more of myself than I could give in a corporate job,” Jennifer reflects. “Then COVID hit, and we started working from home. I decided by faith that I would do real estate school again and go for it.”
Serving Her Community
Over the past three years, Jennifer has fully devoted herself to her new career. The opportunity to help people find their dream home has been a blessing in her life.
“It’s been better than I ever dreamed,” she smiles. I love working with sellers and buyers, low-end and high-end. There is no niche. I can do the whole spectrum. I love helping my clients.”
Jennifer hopes to grow The Home Connection Team, currently a group of two, to a team of four agents. Her husband, Manny, also supports her work through his role as a handyman and the countless hours he puts into assisting her at client meetings.
“Haley’s favorite saying was, ‘Footprints in history aren't made sitting down.’ I am following that same path. I think good things come to those who are willing to work. I'm all about working hard for what I get. I put my career on hold for 48 years, and it's my time to go out and do what I want to do: be the best agent I can be.”
A Lasting Legacy
The Owasso Water Tower has an inscription devoted to Jennifer’s daughter, Haley. Under the Owasso Rams sign, it reads, “Play For Haley” in honor of her passing. Jennifer’s younger daughter, Brenna, is also an Owasso fixture; she owns Rock Nutrition.
