New Beginnings

For 13 years, Lacey Woodring devoted her time and energy to helping others maintain their dental health, but she embarked upon a new career adventure in 2021. A year into her journey as a real estate agent, she is more optimistic than ever about the possibilities of a career as a REALTOR®.

Real estate has offered Lacey a level of flexibility and financial freedom that she didn’t have in her former career. While she’s still finding her footing in the business, her first year was successful enough that she’s now transitioning out of dentistry entirely, trading the comfort and convenience of a salaried job for the excitement and potential of entrepreneurship.

“I have spent so many years helping others fix their smile and have been very proud of that, and now I’m ready to take that to the next level with helping people find their perfect home,” Lacey beams.

Beginning Again

Lacey began her real estate journey at the encouragement of her husband, Will, a commercial lender, and her sister, Bethany Ashlock, a REALTOR® since 2019.

“I felt as if I wasn't growing in the dental field anymore and needed to explore a new avenue,” Lacey explains. “I've been in the dentistry field for 13 years and wanted to expand my knowledge and learn something new.”

Lacey officially began her real estate career in July 2021. In her first six months, she closed $2.9 million. Her stats and earnings weren’t Earth-shattering, but they were strong enough to convince Lacey to leave her career as a dental assistant in the rearview mirror. In the summer of 2022, she transitioned out of her role in dentistry entirely.

“I’m definitely scared and nervous without that steady income coming in,” Lacey admits, “but I'm excited for something new.”

In Family, In Business

Lacey hopes to build upon her early success in the coming years. She’s a Tulsa native with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. Although she’s currently working as a solo agent, she hopes to soon team up alongside her sister, Bethany, also an agent with McGraw REALTORS®.

“Bethany and I used to fight constantly and not get along. My mom said, ‘I'll die before you ever get along,’ and she did,” Lacey reflects. “Over the last few years, we have grown to a point where we talk every single day, and we have this goal to work together to help each other achieve higher status and become a closer-knit family. My mom knew before we knew we'd come together at some point. We just had to figure it out. So that’s why we want to be a team. We want to grow together.”

As a Tulsa native, Lacey knows the ins and outs of the city and the unique amenities that make it a great place to live.

“Helping a new homeowner or repeat homeowner is always exciting and helping them begin a new chapter in life. I enjoy being part of the process and all the excitement that entails from the beginning of house shopping to the closing day.”

The Future is Bright

Lacey chose to go into real estate to grow, but she was also driven to gain more freedom. That freedom, hopefully, will allow her to spend more time doing what she loves. Outside real estate, Lacey enjoys golfing, cooking, running, and entertaining. She and her husband, Will, have three dogs and a cat.

“Making food for people and entertaining is a huge passion for me,” Lacey smiles. “That really gets me excited.”

As Lacey looks ahead, she holds an outlook of optimism. Although she’s taking this leap of faith in transitory real estate market conditions, she’s confident she’ll be able to achieve continued success.

“I'm learning a lot, every transaction has been different, and I continue to learn each day,” she says. “Every day, I look forward to meeting new people, whether it's other agents, title companies, or different lenders. I am loving everything I'm learning, along with meeting so many new people … I’m all about growing and expanding my knowledge.”
