Randy Wisdom | Superior Termite and Pest Control

Randy Wisdom grew up as the son of a pastor. Serving others—and the community at large—has always been a big part of his life. 

“But I wanted to do this in a way where I could also provide a great future for my family,” Randy explains. “Owning a business has been my dream since I was a very young kid.”

Randy’s first taste of the working world was in hospitality. At 18, his faher-in-law, Matthew Stockton, introduced him to the termite industry.

“Spending these two years in the hospitality industry at such a young age really helped set me apart as a young entrepreneur when I transitioned into the home service industry, providing termite and pest control services,” Randy continues. 

Randy’s father-in-law founded Superior Termite and Pest Control in 2001. After several years under his father-in-law’s wings, Randy took the reins. He took a small, one-person show and developed what has become one of Tulsa’s premier pest control and termite service providers.

“I kept all services in my own hands for four years before hiring employees and service technicians. Thirteen years later, we are now a staff of over fifteen people operating ten routes and servicing thousands of homes and businesses throughout the state,” Randy says proudly. “We strive for excellence in everything we do, from training to using premium products and having a great team culture… We back our inspections with a one-year warranty, which is the longest warranty in the state. If we inspect a home with a 100% clear report of no issues, we will come back for free up to one year later to treat termites if they are found in the home or business we inspected. We are not happy unless the customer is happy.”

From the outside looking in, Randy has created the life of his dreams. He and his wife, Kaylan, have been married for 13 years and have two kids, Ava (8) and RJ (3). They enjoy spending time outside, working out as a family, and attending Victory church in South Tulsa. Superior Termite and Pest Control is Thriving, too. Randy hit several significant milestones in 2023. He created a seven-figure company with a strong support staff, built his family their dream home, and created the financial nest egg he desired. 

Accomplishing those goals should have felt amazing, but instead, they left Randy feeling down. 

“Achieving all of these goals in life by age 30 was a dream come true, but also, I quickly began to wonder what my purpose is for the rest of my life,” Randy explains. “I quickly fell into a short, dark season of my life, where I thought the best days were behind me… This began to take over my mind and emotions.”

Randy rode out this rocky period for a few months, eventually hitting the bottom. He had the awareness to realize where he was headed, so he reached out for support. With the guidance of his pastor, who, coincidentally, had just published a book called Mind Games, Randy began to rediscover his footing. And to no surprise, the solace he found brought him back to the arms of God—right where he belongs.

“With my wife and family by my side and staying faithful to my Lord and Savior, I began to notice that my best days are ahead of me and not behind me and that the dreams I had as a young entrepreneur are just the beginning,” Randy explains. “Our purpose in life is to help other people win and not just win ourselves. I gained my purpose back quickly and began to be excited about the future. Close to a year later, we have excelled even further as a company and added on more new team members and positions at Superior. Our family and business culture has been changed due to the standards that we now have at Superior, and that is to truly put Christ first in everything we do and to open every meeting that we have in prayer. I want to challenge all my local entrepreneurs to do the same and set back and look at how God blesses you and others around you. 

“My purpose now is to live a life full of peace and to live a life pleasing God. Your best days are right in front of you.”
