As a man of his faith, Joe Lindsey is deeply committed to following the word of God. Throughout his life, he’s remained trusting of the path that has been laid out in front of him. With open ears and an open heart, Joe has found his place and his purpose.

Heading the Call

In 2019, Joe heard a call that would reshape his life, both personally and professionally.

“We started to feel and pray through God calling us to plant a church somewhere,” Joe reflects.

At the time, Joe had been working with First United Bank for nearly six years. But when Joe received the message to plant a church, he knew he needed to shift directions. Upon leaving First United Bank, he began working in the intensive care unit at The Children's Hospital at Saint Francis, where his first child, Blakely, had spent time as a newborn.

“I wanted to give back,” Joe explains. “It was amazing and difficult all at the same time, and I worked with the most amazing nurses who multiple times showed that they are heroes.”

During this time, Joe got his real estate license.

“The whole goal was to get my license to have the freedom of schedule to plant a church wherever God wanted.”

Staying Humble

Joe landed at RE/MAX in Owasso and hit the ground running. By 2021, he started his own team, WhyNot Home Team, which currently has three members. While Joe has already achieved tremendous success, he remains humble in his approach.

“I would say my niche is I just try to love people well. I don't have a sales pitch. I have so many areas in real estate that I could probably improve in, but I try to treat everyone like they are my family.”

In his three years in business, Joe has focused on education; he understands that to best serve his clients, he needs to have best-in-class knowledge. In addition to his love for helping people, Joe has a genuine appreciation for houses. He and his wife have remodeled three homes, and he’s always enjoyed the design process.

“I try to know my craft deeply, whether it is the contract or general information. That is super important to help the people that God sends over to me,” Joe says. “I feel like that is a responsibility that I have been given for my clients. I try to love my clients well with my time, energy, and knowledge.”

Living His Purpose

Success for Joe Lindsey is all about living his purpose and supporting his family.

“I didn't get my license to be the top agent at RE/MAX or get an award or make a certain amount of money,” Joe says bluntly. “I got into this industry to meet people, have the freedom of schedule to plant a church, and support my family well. So success, for me, is being able to do the things I'm called to do and that I am passionate about.”

Joe considers his wife, Stephanie, the best part of Team Lindsey. He says she is “the most grace-filled person he knows.” Stephanie spends most of her time caring for their three daughters, Blakely (4), Bristol (2), and Brightynn (born 2021).

“Blakely … is so strong and full of life. Bristol is our second. She is the comedian in the family. She is the funniest little girl and wants to be just like BK. Brightynn is our newest addition to Team Lindsey … She is a ray of sunshine, smiles at everyone and everything, and is our best sleeper of the three. Praise God,” Joe laughs.

Looking ahead, Joe remains focused on planting his church. City Light Church is set to open in 2023 in the same building as the Owasso RE/MAX office.

“City Light Church, This is the church that God is planting with our team and us this year. That is my passion and the reason I got my license.”
